Free Ice Cream, A Crashed Website - and What We Did Instead
Yesterday, Melbourne queued up for free ice cream.
5 May was Ben & Jerry's Free Cone Day - 34 Aussie stores, unlimited scoops, no purchase needed. Last year Victoria alone knocked back over 50,000 cones. Can't blame anyone for that.
This morning, Australia Post's website went down.
The new limited-edition Bluey $2 coins dropped, and the rush was so intense it took the whole online shop with it. Plenty of people were left staring at: "Our Online Shop is temporarily unavailable due to high demand." Gutted.
Fair enough - Aussies love a good thing when they see one.
We spent today doing something a bit quieter.
A Melbourne customer hit a technical snag while trying to place an order. We had it sorted within 30 minutes and got her back on track.
But the part we're most proud of? She wanted to get a proper feel for how the bed frame would sit in her room before committing. So we put together a furniture placement visual - the piece shown in a real room setting.
Because buying something for your home is a big call. We think you should feel confident before it shows up at your door.
That's just how we do things at Avonest. Quality you can count on, and a team that actually gives a damn.
Free ice cream hits the spot. Scoring a rare coin feels mint.
But a bed that genuinely fits your space? That's the good stuff.
Sleep better, live better.
